Brooks, Glen Heber
passed away on March 19, 2013. Glen Heber Brooks, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away Tuesday 3-19-13 at the age of 91. He was born to Bert Josiah and Lottie Mae Brooks in Murray, Utah on July 23, 1921. Glen graduated from Mesa High in 1939 and served in the Air Force at Williams AFB in 1942 as a trainer instructor. He was honorably discharged in 1944 at the government's request to farm cotton for the war effort. He married Katie Reed April 18, 1942 and was married for 26 years. Katie preceded him in death. Glen graduated with distinction from Arizona State University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1968, Glen married Vera Mae Campbell and was married for 34 years. Vera also preceded him in death. Glen was a High Priest and a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). Glen and Vera served a LDS Misson at the Mesa Temple in 1986, then in 1989, served another mission at the Visitor's Center in New York City. Glen is survived by his children, Glen Heber Brooks Jr. (Ron), Reed Brooks (Jane), Deborah Brooks Gillespie (Weston), Denise Brooks Crandall (David), Gayle Isaacson Garfield, Linda Isaacson Gibbens (Larry). Deceased but always in Glen's heart is Katie (wife), Kathleen Glenda Brooks (daughter), Vera (wife), Dale Brooks (grandson), Cody White (great-grandson), and Connor Ray Gillespie (great-grandson). Glen is survived by 13 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. The viewing and the
funeral will be at the LDS church at 4640 East Holmes Avenue, Mesa 85206. The viewing will be on Friday 3-22-13 from 6:00-8:00 pm, and the funeral will be on Saturday 3-23-13 at 2:00 pm with a family viewing one hour prior.
