Guyneth Marie Nelson, 91, passed away on November 19, 2013. Guyneth, an only child, was born on September 27, 1922 to Lawrence and Eunice (Weldy) Davis in Middle Point, Ohio. Guyneth graduated from Van Wert High School in 1940 and attended Ohio State University with studies in journalism. She then accepted a position at the Zanesville News in Zanesville, Ohio. On June 19, 1948, in Zanesville, Ohio, Guyneth married Norman Nelson. Norman and Guyneth were married for 65 years at the time of Norman's passing in June of this year. Norman and Guyneth lived in Corning, New York, for almost 10 years prior to moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1957. As her children were growing, Guyneth was a homemaker, but as the children grew older, she also worked in sales for Sears, Roebuck & Company. Guyneth retired from Sears after ten years. Guyneth and her husband, Norman, were active members at Bethany Bible Church for almost 40 years. Survivors include son, John D. Nelson, daughters, Ann (Larry) Grimm, Joan (Larry) Whiteman, Kathryn (Anthony) Spadaro, one granddaughter, Kirsten Grimm, nephew, Donald Wagner Jr., and niece, Karen Wagner-Beck. Preceding Guyneth in death was her loving husband, Norman, her parents, Lawrence and Eunice Davis, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Thelma and Donald Wagner. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Hansen Mortuary Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ with a private burial service.
