Clark, Harry C.
Our father died peacefully on May 7, 2014 at his home in Casa Grande, Arizona, he was 89. He was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and raised on a farm about a mile north of the town of Van Buren, Missouri on the Current River. He entered the army in World War 2, becoming a paratrooper and glider pilot, and was wounded in battle, receiving numerous medals including the medal of honor, rifle expert, bronze stars and purple heart. After his recovery he moved to Arizona and met and married the love of his life Marguerite. In 1951 he opened Clark Optical and ran the company for decades. Both he and Marguerite were also private pilots. They both enjoyed camping in Arizona, doing so as often as they could. In his retirement he purchased a home just outside Casa Grande, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Marguerite, parents David and Viola Clark of Missouri, his older brother Stanley of Missouri, as well as Marge Clark, the wife of his younger brother Charlie of Missouri. He is survived by son Jon (Susan), daughter Tina Brogdon (Clay) of Savanna, GA., daughter Karen, son Philip (Sharon), and son Paul, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral will be at the V.A. Cemetery on Monday, June 2 at 9:30 A.M. north of the loop 101 on Cave Creek Road.
