Campbell, Helen Jean
passed away on October 6, 2013 at the age of 90. Jean was born and raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas. During World War II she met and married Bill Campbell returning with him to Missoula, Montana. They were married for 50 years when he passed away in 1994. She is survived by her children Sherry, Carol, Bill and Mary Kay and her 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Jean had her first dance studio in Missoula. In 1958 the family moved to Phoenix and Jean opened another dance studio. Over the years she worked with Arizona State University modern dance and did choreography for both the Children's Theater and the Phoenix Musical Theater. She was also a certified Royal Academy Dance Instructor and eventually both taught and danced the flamenco. She provided dance performances for many local events and over the years also taught dance classes at elementary schools. She was President of the Arizona Dance Guild which promoted dance in every way. She was a great mother and an inspiration to all her children to live their passions! A graveside service will be held at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Phoenix on Saturday, February 22 at 1:30 PM.
