Jarrett, Howard Matthew
Howard was born Jan 31, 1934 in Denver, Colorado to Charles and Alice Jarrett. He passed away quietly at home June 5, 2014 in Apache Junction, AZ. Howard was a Korean War veteran, proudly serving this country from Jan 15, 1954 - December 21, 1955. He received an honorable release from duty in the Army as a Specialist Third Class. He then went on to serve the city of Phoenix as a police officer from August 1960 - April 1975. At that time he became an investigator for the Public Defender's office, from which he retired in 1995. In his retirement, he served on the Arizona Board of Clemency and the Psychiatric Security Review Board. He was also elected as the Republican Precinct Committeeman for the city of Mesa. In his leisure time, Howard enjoyed boating, camping, motorcycle riding and traveling. With his young family he enjoyed traveling the Police Rodeo circuit. He was quite a joker with a great sense of humor. He loved photography. He was a member of the American Legion. Howard is survived by his daughters, Kelly Brassfield, Wendy M. Elam and Tracy Dillon.
