He later attended the University of Arizona where he was active in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon social fraternity, graduating with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. After his presidency, he transformed the hardware and shutter business to a 100,000 foot retail and design center. While at Entz-White, he earned an Executive MBA at Harvard University and was also a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). He was an active runner who completed several marathons.
