John Lynn Exley, 66, of Glendale, AZ journeyed to Heaven on Saturday, June 7, 2014. John was born in Clearfield, PA on October 4, 1947 to Anna Pauline & John Paul Exley, the third of four children. He grew up in PA and OH. John was a true patriot. Although working at TRW in Cleveland in the aircraft division and being draft exempt, he felt called to join the army aviation division. He was heavily exposed to Agent Orange and its ensuing health consequences, but John was proud to have served his country. John married his high school sweetheart, Linda Stevens, in Chardon, OH on February 24, 1968, upon his return from Vietnam service as an air traffic controller. They moved to AZ in 1979 from OH. John loved working on cars and restored many classic cars to pristine condition. He worked many years as an insurance adjuster. He was preceded in death by his parents, and younger brother, Bill. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda; sons Josh and Joseph, daughter Sarah, two granddaughters Lily and Scarlett, two sisters Joan Hill and Janet Moses, both of Denton, NC, and several nieces and nephews. Services are at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Rd., Peoria, AZ. A graveside service is at 10:30 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ.
