John William Perles, 82, of Scottsdale, Arizona, died March 10, 2014. Son of John and Celeste Perles, loving husband of Priscilla Nelles Perles, John passed away on March 10 at Scottsdale Healthcare. He is survived by his sister, Violet Schultz, his wife of 55 years, Priscilla, 6 children, John Jr. (Sally), Jennifer Velitchkov (George), Karen McGuinness (Johnny) Susan Hayes (Wade) Julia Perles and Emily Strauss, (John). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Son of a coal miner, John enlisted in the USAF where he served in Korea. His career as director of operations began in Chicago where he worked for the Montgomery Ward Catalog House. The family moved to Naperville, Ill and then to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada where the youngest daughter, Emily, was born. John was Regional Operations Director for the T. Eaton Company. Positions with J. L. Hudson in Detroit, May Co. in Los Angeles and Broadway Southwest in Phoenix rounded out his career. His "retirement" was spent helping build a family owned manufacturing business. His love of golf, fishing trips to Canada, road trips with his wife, visiting and reminiscing with friends, mentoring his grown children and doting on his grandchildren filled John's final years with peace and joy. He will be missed. Rosary will be held from 10:30-11AM with a memorial service at 11AM, Friday, March 14, 2014, Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Rd. in Scottsdale.
