81, of Phoenix, AZ passed away peacefully in his home on June 5, 2013. Khin was born February 1, 1932 in Pegu, Burma to U Ba Khin and Daw Aye Thin. He was the 7th child of 14 brothers and sisters. After immigrating to the United States in 1956, Khin attended Arizona State University, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Architecture in 1961. He soon started working for an architecture firm in which he later became partner and Executive Vice President of VSLA Architects, a position which he held until his retirement. On April 7, 1966, Khin married Christine Skoglund in Tempe, AZ. While raising a family, Khin was active in golf, hunting, gardening, poker and attending his sons' sporting events and performances.
Khin is survived by his wife, Christine Aye; sons, Andrew Khin Aye and Jeremy Khin Aye; grandchildren, Cooper Khin Aye, Spencer Khin Aye and Waverly Porter Aye; six siblings, Daw Khin Khin Thein Petrucci, U Khin Htay, Daw Yi Yi Khin Velasco, Daw Khin Mu Wai Vann, U Maung Maung and Daw Wai Wai Khin Godfrey; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 15th at Grace United Methodist Church (2024 E. University Drive, Mesa, AZ 85213) officiated by Reverend Mike Downing. A light reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
