Rondeau, Madeleine Rita
87, a long-time resident of the Phoenix area, passed away on March 11, 2014. She was born in Nashua, NH, July 15, 1926, to Albina Cardin and William McIntosh. She married Theodore A. Rondeau, Jr. in 1947, who passed away in 1982. Madeleine received a B.A. in social work from Arizona State University in 1979. She worked as a social worker at Arizona Dept. of Economic Security until she retired in 1991 and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her clients. She was an active member of St. Daniels Catholic Church where she met life-long friends. She loved to travel, play the piano and dance. Late in life she went on to become an expert ballroom dancer with her partner Carl Wellington, winning many awards throughout her dancing career. Her optimistic outlook on life and love of laughter was contagious and stayed with her to the very end. She is survived by her brother, Leonard McIntosh, four children, Michelle Goodwin, Elaine Gobeo, Renee Rondeau, and Leonard Rondeau and grandchildren Suzanne, Bridgette, and Greg Furman, Tracy and Scott Goodwin, and Leonard Albert and David Rondeau, and four great grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, and Taya Goodwin and Dylan Furman. The viewing will be at Queen of Heaven Catholic Mortuary on Monday, March 17, 2014, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 11300 N. 64th St., Scottsdale, AZ on March 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St., Phoenix AZ.
