Baker, Martha H.
Martha H. Baker, also known as Martha (Baker) Carr, 89, died Saturday, February 15, 2014. Martha was born February 28, 1924 in Shreveport, Louisiana where she graduated from St. Vincent Academy. Martha graduated from Louisiana State University in 1945 with a degree in Bacteriology. Martha spent much of her work life in public health as a laboratory technologist. Martha is remembered for being a beautiful woman in body, mind and spirit. Martha is a true Christian and was an active member of North Phoenix Baptist Church. Martha was preceded in death by her father and mother, William Baker and Helen Melat Baker. Martha is survived by her three daughters, Helen Carr Baldwin, Carolyn Elaine Carr, Cathryn Martha Carr and grandsons, Austen Alexander Baldwin and Aaron Baker Baldwin and granddaughter-in-law Erin Caylor Baldwin. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, AZ. All are invited. I Cor. 15 Death is temporary.
