Gindhart, Mary Alice Mullen
61, moved on to another dimension on July 8, 2012 after suffering a long fight against lung disease. Mary Alice was born on November 21, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri to William J. and Frances A. Mullen. She graduated Cuba High School in 1968 and moved on to continued education in journalism and communication at Arizona State University. She worked as a reporter and editor for The Arizona Republic and Phoenix Gazette in Phoenix, Arizona from 1981 until 1997. In 1982 she met and fell in love with her husband of 29 years, Floyd "Bud" Gindhart and Mary Alice married May 22, 1983. Their union was shared with children Jonathan James Gindhart and Victoria Rae Mullen Gindhart. Mary Alice retured to school and earned her master's degree in social work from ASU. After long careers in print and broadcast journalism Mary Alice and Bud moved to Cherry, Arizona in 2001. Mary Alice achieved her life-long dream of working with children and their families. She was an 11 year employee of West Yavapai Guidance Clinic, proudly serving as a Child and Family Therapist. Leading her in leaving this life were her parents and her eldest sister, Linda Lee Catherine Mullen Jones. Her loving husband Bud, her youngest sister, Frances Susan Mullen Casarotto, Sue's loving husband Larry, her two nephews, Timothy Jones and Jason Casarotto, her brother and sister in law, Bob and Judy Gindhart and their daughter, Biera, survive Mary Alice. Her children and three wonderful grandchildren whom she fondly called her "grandbabies" also survive her. Before her passing, she requested that the world know and understand that her blessing in life was her union with Bud, her friends, and her treasured family. "Know you are loveable and know you are loved."
