Vernon, Michael Joseph
43, of Glendale, AZ passed away on December 10, 2011. Born in Bellflower, CA on November 27,1968 and resided in AZ from 1972 to 1998. Attended Cortez High School and served in the Army from 1998 to 2007 where he did 3 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Decorations and citations awarded in service to his country were the Presidential Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, Basic Aviation Badge, and Parachutist Badge. Hired by Columbia Helicopters and moved to Wilsonville Oregon in 2008. Survived by son Joshua Vernon (age 9), parents John & Diane Vernon, ex-wife Linda Vernon Rayno, sisters Keirsty Galvin and Terry Reppert, brother James Vernon, uncles and aunts, niece Victoria Reppert, nephews Brock Reppert and Reese Galvin, cousins, and girlfriend Cheryl Clark. Mass held December 28th, 2011 at St. Helen's Catholic Church. Internment with military honors and graveside services were at Sunland Memorial and laid to rest by his nana
and tata, Teresa & Jesus Teran. We're so proud of Michael for the significant accomplishments he succeeded in achieving during his life and for being the one of a kind special person that he always was. We will always love you and miss you so very much.
