Nancy Baker Obituary
Baker, Nancy
Nancy Baker, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away with family by her side on October 3rd, 2013 after a courageous battle with Ovarian cancer. Nancy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 7th, 1927 to Ted and Margaret Iuppenlatz. She is a graduate of Royal Oak High School and Michigan State University and was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Upon graduating from Michigan State she moved to Long Beach, California where she pursued her teaching career. In California, is where she met her husband Bob, and had three wonderful children, Tom, Mike, and Missy. After many years in California the family moved to Arizona. Nancy was a substitute teacher, attended several Bible studies and was a volunteer in the Florence Crittenton Auxiliary. She loved to shop, especially with her daughter and two granddaughters. She also enjoyed playing bridge and was active in two bridge groups. Above all else, Nancy loved spending time with her family and friends; the California pot luck group, as well as many of her dear Arizona friends. In the past few years Nancy and Bob acquired a dog from their son in law. Mercy, the dog, soon became the best medicine as her cancer progressed. Nancy is survived by her husband, Bob Baker, of almost 60 years, brothers, John and Fritz Iuppenlatz, children, Tom Baker, Mike Baker, and Missy Bracken. Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her loved ones find solace in knowing she is now out of pain and at peace with her Father God in Heaven.
