Larson, Norman K.
Norman K. Larson passed away peacefully today at age 92 in Rio Verde, Arizona. He was born on June 21, 1921 in Fordville, North Dakota to Walter and Anna Larson. Norman Married Dorothy Loraine Jacobs on May 20, 1944 and remained happily married to her until her passing on Feb. 10, 2013. Their 75 year love story began with their first date when Dorothy was 14. He is survived by his siblings Dean and Wally Larson and Doris Bjorklund his sons Daniel E. Larson (Decatur, IL) and John W. Larson (Minneapolis, MN), his daughter-in-law, Cindi Larson and his grandchildren Erika Todd (Michael), Brock Larson and Evan Larson. Norman Graduated from Washburn High School in Minneapolis, Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy and the University of Minnesota (Mechanical Engineering). Norman was a veteran of WWII and Korean conflict and served 20 years in the US Navy as a Lt. Commander. He had a 31 year career at Archer Daniels Midland where he retired as the Vice President of operations of the Grain Division. He was proud that two generations have followed him working at ADM. Norman was one of the founders of the Community Church of the Verdes, a member of Rotary, and past president of the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) and the Rio Verde Homeowners association. Norman was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was well known for his generosity, kindness and character. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 14, at the Community Church of the Verdes, 25603 North Danny Lane, Rio Verde, AZ 85263. Refreshments and light lunch will follow the service. Another memorial service will be held in Minneapolis, MN at a date and time to be announced. Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Community Church of the Verdes, 25603 North Danny Lane, Rio Verde, AZ 85263.
