Oscar C. Lowe Jr. passed away May 12, 2014 at his home in Peoria. Oscar was born September 20, 1931 to Oscar Sr. and Mary (Knox) Lowe in Asheville, NC. After high school Oscar moved to Miami to work in his brother's funeral business. He then started his career serving in the United States Navy retiring in 1971 in San Diego, after being wounded in Vietnam 1968. The family moved to Glendale, Arizona in 1973. Oscar was a member of Free & Accepted Masons of California, Master Mason 32nd Degree, A&A Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, The American Legion post 0029 and Disabled American Veterans. He loved people and people truly loved him. He was a great man, who lived a simple life. Oscar is survived by his daughter; Leslie (Ron) Skehan of Peoria; son, Mark (Marcia) Slavin, CA, Granddaughter; Natalie Skehan, and special friend, Annie Ayers. He was preceded in death by his wife Maryann Lowe (married 31 years) Oscar Sr. and Bess Lowe (parents). Viewing will be 10am, Monday, May 19, 2014, at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W Thunderbird Rd., Peoria, AZ 85381. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment at 1 PM at National Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85012. Memorial contributions can be made in Oscar's name to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
