Trezona, Richard (Dick)
Dr. Richard Trezona of Sun City West, formerly of Minneapolis, MN., passed away on March 29, 2014 at the age of 94. Preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Peggy) Trezona, he will be missed by his companion Anne, sons Mike and Jim (Lani) and extended family of 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Born in Ely, MN and raised in Houghton, MI, Richard initially graduated from Stout University in Menomonie, WI as an Industrial Arts teacher. During WW ll he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy's Explosive Ordinance Disposal division. After the war he became a prominent Dentist in the Twin Cities, earning his D.D.S. and Master's degrees from the University of Minnesota. Always a civic leader, he was a member of the local school board and Lions Club, helped establish and was a board member of a local hospital and was a Charter Member and President of the local Rotary Club. In later years he also was an instructor in the University of Minnesota Dental School. A caring, compassionate person who enjoyed life to the fullest, Richard was loved by all and "never met a stranger". His infectious smile and exuberant outlook on life will be missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Richard Trezona will be held on Friday May 2, 2014 at 11:00am at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church in Sun City West. Military honors and interment will be in July at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
