Luther, Robert "Bob" Raymond
66, of Scottsdale passed away on July 5, 2014. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, Bob grew up in Western Springs and Hinsdale. He attended Northwestern University's Six-Year Honors Program to an MD, where he met Barbara, his wife of 44 years. He started his residency at Wesley Memorial Hospital (now Northwestern Memorial Hospital), but was drafted before completing it. The doctor draft was cancelled before he reported for duty and he joined Baxter International to start a long career in pharmaceutical research at Baxter, Abbott, and Neurex. He planned, supervised, tested and obtained approvals of blockbuster drugs that have helped many people. Outside of his career, Bob loved to travel, explore other cultures, collect art, photograph nature, meet new people, scuba dive, and golf. His generosity, kindness, and humor will be missed. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (husband Jeff) and granddaughter Madison. He is also survived by his brother John (wife Lori). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 13 at 1 pm at Messenger Mortuary 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85251.
