Murphy, Thomas Gregory
of Chandler, Arizona Died May 27, 2014 of natural causes in New York City. He was born on May 9, 1951to John W. and Alice C. (Lonergan) Murphy in Rochester, Minnesota. Tom was a graduate of Lourdes High School and then graduated with Honors from Arizona State University. He was the Lourdes HS golf coach for 29 years and is enshrined in the Minnesota coaches Hall Of Fame, The Lourdes High School Foundation and Rochester Quarterbacks Club. Tom Owned and operated Dooley's Lounge, McMurphys Sports Café, Aquarius club and Now Dooley's Pub in Minnesota. He also was co- Owner of Lone Tree Golf Club in Chandler, AZ. Tom was an avid golfer and gained notoriety as the Caddy for US Open Champion Tony Jacklin in 1970 at Hazeltine Golf Club in Minnesota. He is survived by four brothers Peter (Linda) Murphy, Robert (Patricia) Murphy, Joseph (Wanda) Murphy,all of Rochester, and Mark (Theresa) Murphy of Kissimee Florida; Two Sisters Sheila (Herb) Townsend of Rochester and Mary (mark) Morseof Hudson Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald Murphy, Richard Murphy, James Murphy and John Murphy Jr. Memorials are suggested to Lourdes High School Athletic Department of Rochester, MN.
