Victor Lewis, 87, was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 29, 1926 and passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 20, 2013. Victor loved baseball and was recruited by Clinton High School in the Bronx to play center field. He graduated from Clinton in 1944 and Adelphi University in 1976. He was a proud WWII Army veteran who served in the Pacific Theater of Operation as a Radio Chief in charge of 23 men. As a Staff Sergeant, he fought in the Philippines and Guadalcanal and was stationed in Japan as part of the occupation force. After the war, he met and married the love of his life Ann Safron and they settled on Long Island, where he worked at Airborne Instruments Laboratories. In 1980, he earned his Homeopathic Physicians license and was a pioneer in alternative medicine. After moving to Arizona in 1991, he became active in the Arizona Rangers and was a lifetime member. Victor is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ann; sister, Debra Stern; brother, Manny Lewis; daughter, Janet Blake (John); granddaughter, Melissa Randazzo (Ryan); grandson, Brian Skyler Lewis; and great-grandson, Blake Randazzo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose Perl and Max Lewis; and two children, Linda Sue Lewis and Gary Dean Lewis. A service was held on Dec. 22, 2013 at Green Acres Cemetery.
