Bernard, Viola "Sandy"
93, of Glendale, AZ passed away on April 7, 2014. Viola was born June 1, 1920 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Robert and Bessie Haley, the oldest of 12 siblings. She retired from the Pillsbury Flour Company and moved to Arizona in 1972. "Sandy", as she was known to almost all of her friends, was a proud member of the Sub-Vets through her husband Joe's service during WW-II; a member of the NCOA Auxiliary; Fleet Reserve-Lady's Auxiliary, where she served as the Chaplin for over 20 years and a member of the Women of The Moose, Glendale Chapter. She was a supporting and active member with her parish, St. Raphael's Catholic Church. Sandy is survived by her brother George, step-daughter, Linda; she was blessed with many nieces and nephews to include: Sandy, Herb, Patrick, Karen, Michele, Melissa and many more. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, a proud Navy Sub veteran retiree having served in WW-II and her brothers: Herb, Tommy and Pete. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 14, 2014 at 11:00 at St Raphael's Catholic Church; 5525 W. Acoma Drive, Glendale AZ 85306.
