Lesko, Walter Michail
79, of Gilbert, AZ passed away on July 3, 2014. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 21, 1935, to Joseph and Mary Lesko. He is survived, and will be greatly missed, by his wife of 56 years, Sylvia, daughters, Diane Hoskins and Stephanie Dorfman, son-in-law, Bruce Dorfman, and his grandchildren, Zachery Robles, David Kalk, Lauren Mariscal, Alex Hoskins, Jacob Dorfman, and Samuel Dorfman. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law David Hoskins. Wally grew up in West Point, Ohio. He joined the ROTC and graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also received his MBA from Arizona State University. He worked for Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, California, and for TRW in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1968, he moved to Tempe, Arizona, and worked for Allied Signal for 30 years. During his life, Wally was active with the Southwest Archeology Team and the Arizona Archeological Society. He also spent countless hours volunteering at the Arizona Museum of Natural History. He was always good with his hands, fixing everything around the house, and maintaining his yard. But, his favorite pastime was playing with his grandchildren, who all adored him. He loved baseball, was an avid Dodgers fan, and helped coach his grandsons' Little League teams.
