Hunter, Willard S. MD
Willard S. Hunter, M.D. was born in Cedar City, Utah on March 19, 1927 and passed away on November 21, 2012. He joined the Navy, and served in World War II. He attended the University of Washington, Arizona State University, and the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Hunter completed his medical training at the University of Utah Medical Center and Shriners Hospital. He moved to Arizona in the early 1960's, where he began his practice as an orthopedic surgeon. He served the Phoenix area as an orthopedic surgeon for over thirty-five years, and continued working as an orthopedic consultant until his final week of life. Dr. Hunter is survived by his sister, Mirian Taddei; eight children, Brian Hunter, Kris Stark, Tim Hunter, Stacey Wittekind, Bonnie Wittekind, Zachary Hunter, Meghan Hunter, and Abigail Hunter; his seven grandchildren, Justin West, Andy Wittekind, Camille Hunter, Heidi Wittekind, Kari Roberge, Ehren Wittekind, Madelyn Roberge, and Jennifer Wittekind; and one great-grandchild, Ariela Ontaveros. Predeceased by his sister, Dawn Campbell. A private service for Dr. Hunter will be held at a later date.
