They celebrated their 56th Anniversary this year. After a heroic six-year battle, Bill succumbed to Merkel cell skin cancer. Throughout the ordeal he maintained his Norse strength and sense of humor. For him, family always came first. Bill's determined fight against cancer and indomitable will to live as many years as possible with his loving family inspired us. Although he couldn't conquer death, he conquered life, seizing every moment for meaning, memories, and joy. He is now living in the heart of those he touched.
