William (Bill) W. Dearien "Grandpa Willie" died August 24th 2013 at age 72. He lived in Mesa Arizona and passed away at
(Arbor Rose) in Mesa. He was surrounded by family and friends as he drew his last breath. Alton Dearien and his wife Ruby gave birth to Bill in Batesville Arkansas on September 12th 1940. He was survived by his wife of 51 years Phyllis, his two children Steven and Kristine, his sister Patricia, son-in-law David, daughter in-law Aimee and three grandchildren Jake William, Lillie and Alec.Bill was proudly employed by General Motors for 38 years and reluctantly retired in 2001 as an Emissions Testing Engineer for the Desert Proving Grounds in Mesa. He cherished the many friends he made during his career. His hobbies included working on and driving classic cars, attending auto racing events and spending time with family and friends. He loved telling stories of past events and experiences. We often wondered how true they were but the truth is with him now and that's how they will be remembered. Services will be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn. 2300 W. Van Buren Phoenix AZ. 85009 Serenity Chapel on Friday August 30th.Viewing will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
