58, of Mesa passed away on January 2, 2013. He was born on July 23, 1954 in Knoxville, TN to parents Dr. Robert F. and Wanda L. Keeling. He moved with his family to Ajo, Arizona in 1956 and continued there through high school. He was a member of the Ajo High School marching band, the cross country track team, the National Honor Society, was elected to student government, and participated in other activities and organizations. After graduating from Ajo High School he attended Arizona State University where he majored in music performance and graduated with honors in 1976. While at ASU, he was proud to have been a member of the ASU Marching Band where he played the drums. Upon graduation and many years after, he played in several musical bands in the Phoenix area, as well as in Reno, Nevada. He also participated in theatre and independent film making. He trained and worked as a respiratory therapist, working for many years at Good Samaritan Hospital. He also worked in other medical areas such as supervising the testing of new medications with pharmaceutical testing companies. Bill is survived by his daughter Nicole Brennan and husband Derek of Gilbert, AZ, his mother Wanda Lee Keeling of Tempe, AZ and his brother Robert F. Keeling and wife Lin of El Paso, TX. A memorial service will be held at the Museum at Papago Park in the courtyard on Sunday, January 13 from 1:30 - 3:30. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill's name to the no-kill animal rescue, Friends for Life Animal Sanctuary at 143 W. Vaughn Ave, Gilbert, AZ 85233, (480) 497-8296.
