Wilma Roberta Butler Young passed away peacefully on July 2, 2013, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born in Mooresville, Indiana to Walter Kim Butler and Merle Sarah Herzog on Feb 13, 1917, she married Woodson Clarke Young in 1940. They met at Indiana University where she graduated in Nursing and he in Internal Medicine. After moving to Phoenix in the early 1950s, she became involved in La Sertoma, the Medical Auxiliary, and Visiting Nurses Society. She was a valued volunteer at Phoenix Children's Hospital. A petite and gentle woman, she could be quite competitive on the golf course and at the bridge table. Upon retirement the Youngs moved to Pueblo Norte in Scottsdale where they made many new friends. She will be greatly missed by her children Suzanne Brayer (Win) and Warren Young (Carolyn), grandchildren Wendy Brayer Hooper (Brett), Jason Brayer, Taylor Young, Jack Young, Meredith Young Sargent (Andrew), nine great grandchildren, and family Carolyn Toll, David and Ginger Boring and Julie Young. Contributions may be made to North Scottsdale Methodist Church. Services will be private.
