Graniteville, SC - Mr. Walter M. "Pete" Deas, 71, beloved husband of fifty-three years to Betty Jean Goodman Deas, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 14th, 2014.
Born in and a resident of Aiken County, SC, most of his life, he was a son of the late Walter Wilson and Susie Lowe Deas. A veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, he retired from the United States Navy after twenty-four years of devoted and dedicated service. He was the former owner and operator of Walter Deas Quality Painting as well as Chevy's Restaurant. Pete enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing board games.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include children, Susie Deas Williams, Warrenville, SC, Lisia Deas Medlock, Warrenville, SC, Billie Deas Brown, Ridge Spring, SC, Walter Wilson Deas, Augusta, GA and Roy Deas, Warrenville, SC; siblings, Shirley Kilpatrick, Graniteville, SC, Lillian Marlow, Blue Ridge, GA, Howard Deas, Warrenville, SC, the late James "Nick" Deas and the late Charles Deas, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 17th., 2014, at 2 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC, with Pastor Chris Williams and Pastor Birdie Altman officiating. Interment with full military honors accorded by the United States Navy Honor Guard will follow in Graniteville Cemetery, Graniteville, SC.
