Albert J. Duarte was born on April 4, 1920, in Fort Worth, Texas. He passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014. He lived his early years in Codora, CA, before permanently residing in Arbuckle, CA, for 83 years.

He was in the first graduating class of Pierce High School, Class of '38'. Albert served his country stateside during World War II in the Army Air Corps. He was married to his wife, Teresa for 60 years. Albert hauled wheat, sugar beets, hay and rice for various farmers to the Grimes mill before starting his own business, known as Duarte Hay Banking. He devoted his life to working hard and hauling hay to provide for his family. Albert will be remembered for his humble nature, strength, and pride in everything he did.

Albert is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Duarte; son Cruz Duarte; daughter Ana Hass (Jeff) all from Arbuckle, CA; grandchildren Jesse Duarte of Angwin, CA, Danny Duarte (Erika), Diana Hass of Arbuckle, CA; sisters Jovita, Selina, Nellie and caregiver Rebecca Garcia.

He was preceded in death by his mother Andrea and father Cayetano; siblings Tony, Lupe, Juanita, Pat, Francis and Annie Duarte.

A visitation will be held at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Arbuckle, on Thursday April 3, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. English Rosary will begin at 5:30 p.m. Spanish Rosary will start at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Cross Catholic Church on Friday April 4, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. Burial to follow at the Arbuckle Cemetery.
