Gerald Dean (Jerry) Arnold, 84, of Wheatland, CA passed away September 27, 2013 at his residence. Born on December 18, 1928 in Coos Bay, Oregon. He was a lifetime resident of Wheatland.

Gerald was an Educator, Administrator, and Superintendent of the Wheatland Elementary School District, spanning his 38 year career. After retiring, he was the principal for Plumas Arboga School for 5 years, while working as a consultant for Yuba County Schools.

He was a member of the Wheatland Lions Club, a former member of the Yuba County Grand Jury, a member of the Grace Episcopal Church of Wheatland, CA. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, working in the Counter Intelligence Corp.

Survivors include son, Dean Arnold, Cathy Bridgon of Wheatland, CA; sister, Muriel and her husband, Marshall Goforth of Wheatland, CA; granddaughter, Angela Arnold and great-grandson Maddox of Morada, CA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Delores Arostegui Arnold and a sister, Barbara Spence.

Gerald was an avid reader and gardener.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lipp and Sullivan Funeral Directors.
