Sioux Falls - Lawrence John Auringer, Sr., "Jack" joined his beloved wife Carol in eternal glory while surrounded by his family on Monday, June 30, 2014.
Family present visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00PM at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 7, 2014 at 10:00AM at Wild Flower Presbyterian Church in Sioux Falls.
Jack was born September 22nd, 1935 in Sioux Falls to Lawrence and Lillian (Warne) Auringer. Jack served in the US Air Force with service in Quam, Greenland and Hawaii. On June 6th, 1964 Jack and Carol were married in Luverne, MN and blended their young families. Jack held numerous positions including Gas Barrel proprietor, mechanic/sales at Ditch Witch and truck driver. Jack retired in 2012 from Runge Enterprises after 35 years of loyal service. Jack worked hard to provide for his family and he had few hobbies. He enjoyed cooking and grilling for his family, NASCAR on Sundays and an occasional Old Mil Light.
Survivors Included his seven children, Ken (Terry) Auringer, Tallahassee, FL, Glenn (Cindy) Kenyon, Sioux Falls, David "Buddy" Auringer, Rochester, MN, Kay Flittie, Sioux Falls, Kristy (Phil) Tripp, Sioux Falls, Lanny (Tammy) Auringer, Sioux Falls, Kerry Irvine, Sioux Falls, his extra daughter, Pam Simpson, Sioux Falls; sister-in-law, Bonnie Snook, Sioux Falls; two brothers-in-law, Ron (Donna) Jellis, Pompano Beach, FL, and Terry (Nancy) Jellis, Brandon; 21 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol in 2011, his parents, his stepfather, Clarence Benson and grandson, Chase Auringer.
