Warren "Max " Law, 75 years old, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013, at Dougherty Hospice. Memorial services will be Tuesday, January 29, 1:30 pm, at Calvary Episcopal Cathedral, 500 So. Main, Sioux Falls. Visitation will be Monday, January 28, from 5-7:00 pm, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 So. Main, Sioux Falls.

Max Law was born on September 16, 1937, in Whiting, IA, to Warren F. and Thelma (Pierce) Law. Max graduated from Elk Point High School in 1955. From 1957 to 1959, Max was proud to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Max was honorably discharged in 1959, and with the help of the GI Bill, went to the University of South Dakota Business School, graduating with a BS in Business Administration. In December 1960, Max married Allyce Quam with whom he had two daughters, Sonja and Heidi. In August 1972, Max married Rita Schaefer.

Max had an extensive career in data communications. He worked for Northwestern Bell and AT&T, retiring in 1987. After retiring from AT&T, Max worked for Norstan Communications and for Minnesota Corn Processors.

Max was blessed with a great sense of humor and many friends who were dear to him. He enjoyed sports, particularly fishing, and the company of his pets. He was fascinated by history, especially World War II. Max valued family and friendships and was known for frank honesty and independent thinking.

Those left to cherish Max's memory include: his wife of 40 years, Rita; his daughters, Sonja (Robert) Cain of Overland Park, KS, and Heidi (Lambert) Arceneaux of Houston, TX; five grandchildren; and brothers Larry Law of Sioux Falls and Darrell (Arneada) Law of Boise, ID; and numerous other relatives and friends. Max was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Sam.
