Jack D. Latta of Kingwood Texas, formerly of Grand Junction and Aurora CO went to be with our Heavenly Father, Sat. Nov. 9th 2013. He was born July 13, 1936 to Robert & Velma Florence (Thompson) Latta in Marysville, Kansas. He was 77. After graduating from Axtell High School, he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Shaw Air Force base in Aiken, South Carolina and was honorably discharged in Nov. 1958. While serving his country, he met the love of his life, a beautiful southern bell, Sarah A. Orr and they were married April 13, 1957. To their marriage, four children were born. He worked for Frontier Airlines and Continental Airlines from 1962 to 2001 in Grand Junction & Denver, CO and Houston, Texas where he retired. He went to work for TSA and retired the second time after 10 years in 2012. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family. A Godly man, he lived as he believed; God, Family, and Country, in that order. He had a deep and abiding love for God and served as a Deacon at Second Baptist Church, North Campus in Kingwood Texas. He loved his family with passion and his country to a fault. He never knew a stranger and had more friends than we can count. A remarkable man, always there to help a neighbor or friend in need, always thinking of others rather than himself. He is survived by his wife Sarah, daughter Jackie (Gayland) Testerman, Janice (Basil) Laurie of Kingwood, Texas, Dana Latta of Thornton, CO, son Charles (Lori) Latta of Arvada, CO. Grandchildren, Neil Stucker, Ryan (Devin) Stucker, Aaron Stucker of Aurora, CO; Dalys (Chris) Rockert of Harrison, Arkansas, Danielle (Josh) Otterstrom of Highlands Ranch, CO. James (Amie) Latta Arrietta of Grand Junction, CO. Great grandchildren, Caleb, Haylee & Urjiah Rockert. Owen and Logan Stucker, Isabel & Ezra Arrietta of Grand Junction, CO. Also surviving is his only brother, Galen (Thelma) Latta and five nieces and nephews all of Marysville Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Miles Testerman. A viewing will be held at Darst Funeral Home, 796 Russell Palmer Road in Kingwood from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday Nov.14. Funeral services will be held at Second Baptist Church, Kingwood Friday, Nov. 15 at 10 AM and graveside services will be held at Veterans Cemetery in Houston at 12:30 PM.
