Family-Placed Death Notice
HOWE, Sr., Courtney E. Courtney "Court" E. Howe Sr., age 80, of Norcross, GA, born August 30, 1932, died March 23, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marie Fowler Howe, and four children; Linnea Howe, Karen Chartier and husband Chris, Lisa Hendrix and husband Glenn, and Courtney Howe Jr. He was the grandfather of six; Gregory Hendrix, Kristen Hendrix, Zachary Markiewicz, Allison Hendrix, Patrick Hendrix and Britney Hendrix, and the great grandfather of one, Charles Hendrix. Court received his Bachelor's in Psychology from Penn State University in 1954, where he played football, and went on to earn his Master's in Education from St. Bonnaventure University in New York. After his time as a pilot in the U.S. Navy, Court went on to a successful career in business and medical consulting. Retirement allowed Court to follow his passion as an artist, focusing primarily on painting. His notable works were displayed at Gallery V in Roswell. Outside the studio, he worked as a docent at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, and taught art classes to senior citizens. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Norcross, GA with a reception immediately following.
