Family-Placed Death Notice
LARSON, Donald G. DON LARSON 6/1/1931 -2/26/2013 Donald G. Larson passed away on February 26th in Decatur, GA. He is survived by his wife of more than 61 years, Jacqueline, son Tim (wife Linda) and daughter Marcia along with four grandchildren Jamie, Reid, Jeffrey and Erik. Don was born in Fargo, ND and raised on a farm near Moorhead, MN. He received his B.A. in music from the University of Minnesota and his Master's degree in Church Music from Northwestern University. He also served as a Chaplain's Assistant in the US Army. Don spent more than 30 years as a music teacher and counselor at Georgia Perimeter College and was awarded Professor Emeritus status in 1995. He also served as Minister of Music at three Atlanta area churches. A long time board member of the American Guild of Organists, Don served as a Guild Associate for more than 60 years. A celebration of Don's life and music will be held on Saturday, March 16th 1pm at Living Grace Lutheran Church, 18122 Cooledge Road, Tucker, GA. Don was known as a respected musician, teacher and musical collaborator. He will be missed most though as a loving husband and father.
