Family-Placed Death Notice

GEDEON, Hope Hope Davis McClane Bailey Gedeon 77, of Atlanta, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 27. She was born in New Haven, CT on May 14, 1936 but spent much of her life in Florida. She graduated from Winter Park High School and received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Florida State University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She lived in Atlanta, GA for the past 38 years. She was a very successful recruiter with Pathfinders Personnel, until her retirement in 1997. Hope is survived by her husband Don Gedeon, her daughter, Cate Bogue, son-in-law Doug and their children, Ross and Caroline Bogue (all of Atlanta), and her son, Brock McClane, daughter-in-law Sarah, and their children Thomas, Henry and Emma (all of Orlando, FL). She is also survived by her sister, Fran Kiser and her husband Phil (of Kalispell, MT) and her brother, Tom Davis and his wife, Jewell (of Knoxville, TN). She also leaves many other family members and friends. Hope loved music and enjoyed playing the piano, and she was an artist who enjoyed acrylic and watercolor painting. She was a gifted interior decorator and wonderful cook. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, was an avid reader and loved collecting art and antiques. There were few things she enjoyed more than spending time with her family. There will be no formal service immediately, however a service of remembrance will be held at her family home in Lake Junaluska, NC at a time to be determined. In lieu of flowers the family has requested a donation be made to Susan G Komen for breast cancer research. Online condolences may be made at hmpattersonspringhill.com.
