BOOKER, Jeffery JEFFERY FAIRREL BOOKER Jeffery Fairrel Booker, 65, of Kennesaw, died on Saturday, February 22, 2014. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Jeffery Fairrel Booker was born May 6, 1948 in Greenville, Alabama. He graduated from Osborne High School in Marietta and went on to the University of Georgia where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 1971. He spent the next three years as part of the United States Army stationed in Seoul, Korea and Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Award, Rifleman Sharpshooter Award, and the Bronze Star. He started with Southern Company in 1974 holding various positions over the years, the last being Resource Manager in Information Resources when he retired in June 2013 after 39 years. He was an active member of Alta and USTA. He will be remembered for being a wonderful person and for his love of family. Survivors include his wife, Denise Wofford Booker of Kennesaw; daughter, Amanda Booker Winchester and her husband, Brett of Woodstock; son, Matthew Jeffery Booker and his wife, Susan of Roswell; mother, Frances Huggins Booker of Marietta; brother, Vance Booker and his wife, Janet of Kennesaw; two grandsons, Jackson Fairrel Booker and Christopher Beckett Winchester, uncle, Andrew Huggins and his wife, Virgie; nieces, Crystal Schumacher and her husband, Michael, Sara Hydo and her husband, Patrick; several cousins; mother of Matt and Amanda, Julia Booker. He was predeceased by his father, Fairrel W. Booker. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the , P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284 or Lung Cancer Alliance, Family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. 770-428-1511
