CROY, Joyce Price Joyce Price Croy, 85, passed away on July 25, 2013 in Athens, Georgia. She was born on October 21, 1927 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Raymond and Ivy Siddall Price. Joyce grew up in Fort Wayne and spent many enjoyable hours with her sister, Carol, playing tennis at Weiser Park, roller skating in the neighborhood and ice skating at the Reservoir ice rink. Joyce graduated from South Side High School in 1946. After high school she trained at St. Joseph Hospital as an x-ray technician and then went to work for K.H. Gladstone M.D. She worked for Dr. Gladstone until she married the love of her life, Robert R. Croy, on May 8, 1948 and moved to Columbus Ohio, so that he could continue his education at Ohio State University. When the Air Force reactivated Robert during the Korean War, Robert and Joyce moved to Riverside, California. They then moved to Kirkland, Washington and finally settled in DeKalb County, Georgia in 1957. In addition to raising their three children, Joyce volunteered with Girl Scouts of the USA for 15 years, serving as troop leader, neighborhood chairwoman and district chairwoman. She was also proud to have served as the President of the Avondale Women's Club and have her family named Family of the Year of that organization. More recently, Joyce was also a very active member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church. Joyce worked in management for several hotels, including the Omni Hotel in Atlanta. She retired from Georgia Federal Bank, where she was employed as an appraisal coordinator in the real estate division. Joyce was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her Husband of 65 years, Robert R. Croy and their children Joan R. (Chip) Grant of Hull, Georgia; Kenneth R.(Judy) Croy of Marietta, Georgia; and Jon W.(Bobbi) Croy of Elon, North Carolina. Joyce is also survived by her grandchildren, whom she often described as the lights of her life. They are: Amanda Croy, Isaac Croy, Keriann Croy and Maclaren Croy. Joyce is survived by her sister and very closest friend, Carol Price Pruett and Carol's husband, James Pruett M.D., nieces Pamela (Mike) Ouzts and Kimberly (Ray) Kuckleburg, as well as great-niece and nephew, Katelyn and Taylor Ouzts. A memorial service celebrating the life of Joyce Croy will be held at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 4795 North Peachtree Road, Dunwoody, GA 30338 on Friday August 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Barnabas Anglican Church or the .
