SPENCE, Lloyd Lloyd F. Spence Mr. Lloyd Felix Spence, 93, of Carrollton, GA, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Spence was born on May 5, 1920 in Carrollton, GA to the late Wiley Spence and Dora Witcher Spence. He was a WWII Veteran and served in the 2nd Division and 38th Infantry Regiment where he was awarded a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, 5 Battle Star and the Croix de Guerre avec Etoile de Bronze. He attended Southern Tech where he received his Associates Degree in Civil Engineering. Mr. Spence was an insurance agent in Atlanta and Carrollton, GA. He loved spending time with his family which was most important to him. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy, and his wife Avis, was the love of his life. All of his spare time was spent on his farm with his cattle. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Avis Spence; son, Mark Spence Sr.; grandchildren, Christina Spence and Mark Spence Jr.; and great grandchildren, McKenzie Bass-Gainey and Taylor Bass-Gainey all of Carrollton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Hendrix; son, Philip Spence and granddaughter, Samantha Spence Bass-Gainey. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev.
