Family-Placed Death Notice
ENGRAM, Michael E. MICHAEL E. ENGRAM Michael E. Engram of Bethlehem, Georgia died on Friday, March 1, 2013, from complications arising from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Mr. Engram, who was born on the morning the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, was a native of East Point, Georgia and graduated with honors in the first graduating class from Headland High School in East Point. Mr. Engram went on to earn an AB Degree in history from the University of Georgia where he graduated Cum Laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He spent his entire 47 year working career in the savings & loan and banking businesses, primarily as a lender, retiring in 2010 from United Community Bank in Lawrenceville, GA. Mr. Engram and his wife Mary have been members at Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Stone Mountain for 36 years where he was an ordained Deacon and taught Sunday School. Mr. Engram is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 47 years: Mary Williams Engram and his two sons and their wives: Michael J. Engram and his wife Christina C. Hamilton and Timothy H. Engram and his wife Jessica Dennis Engram. A Memorial Service Honoring the Life of Mr. Engram will be held Tuesday, March 5th, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, GA with Rev. Ernie Forrester and Dr. Chuck Moates officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, March 4th, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home in Snellville, GA. For those wishing to make contributions in lieu of flowers, the family suggests: Smoke Rise Baptist Church, The Salvation Army, or the Lilburn Cooperative Ministry, Inc.
