WHITEN, II, Robert E. ROBERT E. WHITEN II Robert E. Whiten II, age 46, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014. He is survived by his parents, Bobby and Kathryn Whiten, Flowery Branch, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Dave Denman, Suwanee, GA; nephews, Taylor Denman and Matthew Denman, Suwanee, GA; aunts, Nickie Devillier, Hoschton, GA and Joyce McLendon, Midfield, AL; several cousins; and other loved ones, including Pam Medved and Keelin and Hayden Medved. Mr. Whiten was born November 3, 1967 in Decatur, GA. He was a 1986 graduate of Madisonville High School in Madisonville, TX and a 1990 graduate of Texas A&M University. He was owner of Thoroughbred Dealer Services in Flowery Branch, GA. Robert help start and was very active in the Junior Spartans football program for West Hall High School where his passion for coaching and mentoring kids impacted many lives. He coached the West Hall Jr Spartan 9 & 10 year olds, and moved up with the kids to coach 11 & 12 year olds. His teams won the Championship Big Red Bowl two years in a row. Working with the NFL, Robert was instrumental in bringing the Junior Player Development program to West Hall, and accompanied a team of boys to New Orleans. His dedication to the kids and commitment to the program earned him 2007 Hall County Man of the Year honors. Robert loved the kids he coached and mentored and kept in close touch with many through the years. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 431 Washington Street, Gainesville, GA 30501. Robert and his beloved dog Ginger were inseparable, so in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hall County Humane Society www.humanesocietyofnortheastgeorgia.org, the Salvation Army donate.salvationarmyusa.org or to the www.donate.heart.org in memory of Robert E.
