Robert Lewis BUTLER Obituary
BUTLER, Robert Lewis ROBERT LEWIS BUTLER Robert Lewis Butler transitioned to his eternal healing on February 28, 2014. Robert was born on February 8, 1941 (his birth date was recorded as February 16, 1941) to Mable O'Neal Butler and Marion Butler. He is the first of six children. He attended public schools and was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Raised in a Christian family, Robert studied and followed the teachings of The Christ. He found his church home and became a member at Hillside. Robert was an army veteran. He worked as a postal clerk, an air traffic controller, real estate agent and mortgage broker. In his retirement, he completed his B.A. in psychology at age seventy. Robert was active in his neighborhood serving two terms as association president. Robert volunteered with Georgia Cares where he counseled Medicare beneficiaries. Robert had a passion for golf, and he valued the relationships he formed with fellow golfers. Robert will be remembered for his upbeat, positive demeanor and how he could put a positive spin on any situation. Robert was preceded by his father, Marion, and a grandson, Isaiah Terrell Owens. He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Bobbilee Johnson Butler; a son, Russell Louis (Heather) Butler; a daughter, Regina Marie Butler Owens; mother, Mable Marie O'Neal Butler; brothers, Herbert Lee (Patricia) Butler and Julius Earl (Towanda) Butler; sisters, Cecelia Gwyn (Gerald) Butler Bukhaya, Sharon Denise (Terrance) Butler Nash, and Karen (Bruce) Michelle Butler Kimble; five grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Interment and Military Honors will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Canton Georgia. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside International Chapel and Truth Center.
