D'ENGLERE, Sanford Sanford "Sonny" Mendel D'Englere, 89, of Decatur, GA passed away Friday, June 6, 2014 at MeSun Hospice in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Sonny was born on Wednesday, August 13,1924 in Philadelphia, PA. He owned and operated Buckhead TV Service in Atlanta until his retirement. Sonny was the Atlanta Falcon's biggest fan and was a repeat season ticket holder. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served as a sergeant during WW II. He will be remembered by his loving wife, Jean of Decatur; his sister, Jean Goldstein of Indianapolis, IN; his five sons and daughters-in-law: David and Donna of Pittsburg, CA, Paul and Connie of Climax, NC, John and Marylou of Greensboro, NC, James and Patricia of The Colony, TX, and Charles of Decatur, GA; his seven grandchildren: Marie D'Englere Proto and husband Will of Denver, CO, Ben D'Englere and wife Katie of Denver, CO, Jessica D'Englere of Greensboro, NC, Matthew D'Englere of Greensboro, NC, Christopher and wife Allison of Raleigh, NC, Caroline D'Englere of Greensboro, NC, and Grace D'Englere of Wilmington, NC; two great-grandchildren, Jack D'Englere of Greensboro, NC and Gates Proto of Denver, CO; and his beloved cat, Snoopy. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Marie D'Englere; and sisters, Rose, Selma, Frieda, Elsie, Pauline, and Betty. Interment with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
