Family-Placed Death Notice
FRENCH, Wilhelmina Wilhelmina (Mina) Jordan French passed away on December 5th, 2013 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Charlotte, NC in 1932 to the late Wilhelmina and David Jordan. She grew up in Atlanta, GA and was a member of the first graduating class of Henry Grady High School. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1954 and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and was Homecoming Queen. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert S. French and moved to Trinidad, BWI to teach fifth grade, where her husband was serving as a naval aviator. Mina was active in the Junior Leagues of Tallahassee, FL, Houston, TX, and as a sustainer in Jacksonville, FL. She enjoyed tennis and played at San Jose Country Club. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Robert, her three children Robert French, his wife Dana of Atlanta, Ga. Dana Muhlberg, her husband Bruce of Boerne, TX . David French, his wife Judy of Austin, TX. and seven grandchildren, Robert and Evelyn French, Elaine and Emily Muhlberg, Sarah, Peter and Daniel French. A graveside service will be held at Christ Church Frederica, St. Simons Island, GA at 11:00AM on January 4, 2014. A reception will follow at the Christ Church Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to your local humane society.
