Brown, George William entered into rest Monday, January 21, 2013 in Roseville, Calif., at the age of 89. George was a native of Boyd, Tex., born on a Tuesday, September 23, 1923 and a resident of Rocklin, Calif.
Beloved husband of Jeni Brown for 61 years. Devoted father of Darcy (Jim) Goodwin and Betsy (Dave) Ennis. Loving grandfather of Grant Ennis, Genevieve Ennis, Taylor Goodwin and Andie Goodwin. Also survived by brother-in-law Ron Johnson of Navato, Calif. He is preceded in death by both parents George and Eula (Jackson) Brown, one brother and one sister.
George is a veteran of World War II where he served four years in the European Theatre. He was a Free Mason of Mesa Lodge #55 as well as a deacon at First Christian Church in Grand Junction, Colo. Graduating from North Side High School and Texas Christian University, class of 1950, in Ft. Worth, Tex., also he was a five year pro football, AFC, NFL and CFL. George was very proud to be a Texan and T.C.U. Frog Alumni, Co-Captain of the football team, also the president of the "T" Club.
A Celebration of Life was held at Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Covenant Church in Rocklin and a private graveside at Rocklin Cemetery in Rocklin, Calif.
