John M. Hawkins

John Malcolm Hawkins was born in Raleigh, North Carolina to Sam and Maryann Hawkins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Hawkins. He is survived by his brother, Jack Hawkins; daughter, Mary Catherine (Cathy) Atkinson; her husband, Jeff Atkinson; and wife, Linda.
John and Mary Lou moved to Sacramento in 1963. He worked for many years at KROY radio selling advertising, or as he liked to call it "selling air". He owned a service station in the 70's at Sunrise and Madison Avenue. He later moved to Auburn to care for his wife after she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. After her death, he worked for Placer County as a Weigh Master at the Lincoln landfill.
At his request there will be no service and his body will be cremated. Any remembrance in his name is requested to go to the , Hospice or any random act of kindness.
