Patricia Fulstone-Arnold-Bissing Obituary

In loving memory of
Patricia Doris Fulstone-Arnold-
Bissing

Resident of Auburn, Calif, long time resident of Carmichael, Calif, born in Wellington, Nevada. Patricia crossed over on January 25, 2017 at the age of 92. Patricia loved life; she was very active in sports and was quite an entrepreneur. Growing up she was cheer leader and captain of the girl basketball team at Reno High, she was on bowling leagues all her life and golfed later in life. Patricia was a true American Patriot she enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and served throughout the WWII. She opened up and ran a very successful antique business in the Carmichael and Sacramento areas in the mid 1970's and continued buying and selling throughout her life, still going to garage sales and reselling up until her final years. She was always a defender of the underdog and never uttered a poor word about anyone; instead she had empathy and concern for all whom she met. That included the animal world. Her car always contained a can of dog food, opener, bowl and leash, rescuing many a stray and finding a home for each one. If you ever needed a hand she was there to offer one, without judgment and with no questions asked.
Her Aunt "Dr. Mary" brought her into this world on June 8, 1924 at the family ranch in Smith Valley, Wellington, Nevada. Her mother moved from the ranch and into the city when the children were young and they grew up and completed their education through high school in Reno. She enlisted in the Navy in March 1944 and served as Secretary for OOD at Mare Island, CA until she was honorably discharged in November 1945. Patricia moved to Sacramento, and after the war she started working as a secretary for the California Contractors Board. She met her soul mate, A.W. "Jack" Arnold in Sacramento when she moved into the same apartment building in downtown. They married and moved into a home in Carmichael, Calif, where they had two children and she started her own business. Jack passed away in August 1986, leaving her a widow. She met and married Walter "Bud" Bissing in 1988 and moved to Auburn, Calif. Walter passed away in May 2007.
She is preceded in death by her late husbands A.W. "Jack" Arnold and Walter "Bud" Bissing; her parents Genevieve Farnsworth-Fulstone-Anderson and Arthur C Fulstone; her sister Beatrice Lee Fulstone-Calvert-Graham. She is survived by her children, daughter Sandra L Arnold-Stockton and James Stockton of Pilot Hill; son Mark Arnold and Toni Spruce-Arnold of Orangevale; grandsons Tyler J Stockton, Cole J Stockton, Rod A Arnold and Max C Arnold.
Patricia will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local animal rescue or the Shriner's Children Hospital.
Graveside services will be held for family and friends at Sierra Hills Cemetery, Citrus Heights, Calif. on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 11 a.m.
