HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Elder Juanita Smith entered into rest on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Smith became a New York City Elementary School Teacher and retired after serving twenty-eight years. Elder Smith was a community organizer and road with Rosa Parks lobbying for what she believed in. She was an active member of Bethel Holy Church for over sixty years. She leaves to cherish fond loving memories with her son; Rev. Alexander (Debra) Smith; daughter, Jocelyn Smith; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Saturday, February 23, 2013, Destiny Worship Center, 2323 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, with Bishop Minerva Bell, Mt. Sinai Holy Church of America, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens. Elder Smith may be viewed today from 2 to 6:00pm at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road. (706) 790-8858
