AUGUSTA, Ga. - Emmeziph James EJ Thomas passed away April 1, 2014. He was born in Augusta, Georgia at University Hospital November 20th, 1947 to Albert Thomas and Emma Jones. Emmeziph, better known as EJ or James to friends and family, attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School where he excelled in academics and basketball. He was a faithful member of most Holy Trinity church, where he also served as an alter boy as a youth. Upon graduating from Immaculate Conception, he received his formal training as an Electrician at Augusta Technical College, with follow along skills training at Catholic University of America, and the Medical University of SC. He retired from Savannah River Plant Nuclear Site after 33 yrs. of faithful service. EJ served his country proudly as a soldier in the US Air Force, courageously enduring the ills of combat during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his sons, Emmeziph James Bear Thomas Jr. and Brian Thomas, his sister Mary Thomas, his grandchildren Xavier James Thomas, Ashanti Samuel Thomas, and Haley Owens. Great grand child Xavier Thomas, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 12, 2014, 11 a.m., at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Telfair St.
