DECATUR, Ga. - Mr. Jack L. Phillips, Sr., of Augusta, GA, husband of Christine (Tena) Hundley Phillips, received COMPLETE healing and peacefully entered into his eternal home on Saturday, October 26, 2013. The funeral will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Bill Head Funeral Home Lilburn/Tucker Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Ferguson officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 PM in Westover Memorial Park in Augusta, GA. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Marcus Phillips and Guessella Hattaway Phillips, his sister Marion Phillips Keller, and his brother, Samuel Marcus Phillips, Jr. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Lee Phillips (Sherri) and Vaughn Phillips; six grandchildren: Ashley, Jordan (Chris), Austin, Owen, Justin, and Faith; one great-grandchild: Maddie White, and a number of nieces and nephews. Born in Louisville, GA, he graduated from the Academy of Richmond County and attended the University of Georgia. He served in the US Air Force from 1950 1954, stationed in London, England and then went on to a successful Sales Career with Conagra Foods Inc. Relocating to Atlanta, GA in 1962, he was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Tucker, Georgia for 33 years. He was a loving husband to his wife of 57 years, a highly respected businessman, a wonderful father to his children and grandchildren and a trusted friend to all who knew him.
